[Oakland House Seaside Resort oceanfront wedding.] We'll help you create your own Maine coast wedding package. Included will be lodging for wedding party and guests, as well as meals, rehersal dinner, reception, and buffet dinner all in a setting made in heaven.

You'll find our experience with arranging for tents, bands, DJs, photographers, videographers, flowers, and special boat trips (for example) especially helpful. We'll help you obtain your marriage license, minister, rabbi, notaries, or other marriage officials, as well as churches and other off-site locations.

Our staff will be delighted to assist with the details!

[We specialize in oceanfront lobster picnics.] Wedding packages vary considerably. We'll customize your event just for you. Packages often include: lobster picnic and barbecue on the shore Friday evening, guest and wedding party lodging, breakfast/brunch Saturday, reception/hors d'oeuvres after the ceremony, bar service, dinner buffet, dancing, Saturday night lodging and Sunday morning breakfast for all guests.

Oakland House's Rusticator Restaurant, fifteen cottages and Shore Oaks Seaside Inn can accommodate up to 80-90 overnight guests. We frequently use marquee tents for larger groups and recently served 170 guests in a marquee under the stars. These tents are provided with supplemental heat and electric lights, and are a festive way to accommodate more people. To accommodate those additional overnight guests we partner with other local inns who can provide exactly the right number of rooms required. You'll find our local partners welcoming and cordial.

Are you planning a smaller, more intimate wedding? The oceanfront Gazebo at Shore Oaks Seaside Inn remains a favorite location for couples to exchange their vows in the simple presence of a few friends and family members. There are other venues as well. [Set up for a gala buffet dinner in the tent.] You might want your wedding reception at both Shore Oaks Seaside Inn and a dinner party at Oakland House's Rusticator Restaurant. Frequently with weekend-long events, the groom's family hosts a Friday night dinner party or lobster picnic on the beach. This is a casual first gathering of the clans and a time for friends to reunite. The spring, early summer and early fall is a lovely time of year for such a festive picnic.

Wedding days are known for getting good weather; however, we have all kinds of backup plans, just in case. We like to share the expression "the wetter the rope, the tighter the knot."

We prefer to host a few special Maine weddings each season so we can provide the 100% attention required to maintain the excellent service we are known for. We will be at your service to assist with the myriad of confusing details that often surround a wedding. No detail is too small for our staff to handle. [Smoked wild salmon is but one of many selections available at an Oakland House garden reception.]
